Mario joined the staff of Detroit Barbers in September 2016, but his path to the barber chair seemed set from early on. Growing up in Saginaw he was surrounded by barbers as friends and relatives. “At first it was a hobby to me,” he said. Mario worked in construction and roofing. Then in 2014 he enrolled in Flint Institute of Barbering. Ask anyone and they’ll tell you that Mario is the “design guy” at the shop – having mastered original shaves. It all comes down to hair texture and color. Mario lives in Royal Oak. When he’s not in the shop, he’s likely fishing, barbecuing or playing basketball or frisbee golf.
