Barbering for Canton

Canton does not have its own Detroit Barbers location, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. What Canton has is an easy shot up Sheldon Rd or Canton Center Rd straight into downtown Plymouth, where our Forest Ave shop has been cutting hair for guys and kids across western Wayne County. If you live anywhere near the Cherry Hill corridor, the Ford Rd retail strip, or the neighborhoods around the Plymouth-Canton Educational Park, you are closer to us than you might think.

A lot of our Canton regulars work near the Ford Rd business district or drop kids off at one of the Plymouth-Canton schools before heading our way. The drive rarely takes more than 15 minutes even with school traffic, and once you are downtown, Forest Ave is easy to find one block off Main St near Kellogg Park. Street parking on Forest Ave is usually open, and there is overflow parking in the municipal lots behind Main St if the block is busy.

The requests we get most from Canton customers are skin fades, tight line-ups, and beard trims that hold their shape through the week. Fade haircuts start at $40, standard men's cuts start at $35, and a beard trim runs $20. If you want the full treatment, our hot-towel straight-razor shave is $45 and gives you a clean, close finish that a home razor cannot match.

Families from Canton also bring kids in for $30 haircuts, especially around the start of the school year at the Educational Park or before team photos. Our barbers keep the chair time short and the cuts sharp, so parents are not fighting a squirmy kid for 30 minutes.

Detroit Barbers on Forest Ave is open Tuesday through Friday 10 to 7, Saturday 10 to 5, and Sunday 11 to 5, plus Monday 11 to 6, which makes it the only shop in our lineup open on Mondays. For Canton residents who want a real barber without driving into Detroit or Ann Arbor, Plymouth is the closest, most consistent option we can offer.

Canton itself has grown a lot over the last two decades, and neighborhoods off Morton Taylor, Lilley Rd, and Beck Rd all funnel toward Sheldon or Canton Center without much trouble. Guys coming from the Cherry Hill Village side sometimes prefer Canton Center Rd north to Ann Arbor Rd, then a quick jog west into downtown Plymouth, which keeps the whole trip under the highway and off Ford Rd during the afternoon rush.

We also see plenty of regulars who time their visit around errands at the Ford Rd shopping corridor or a stop at the Canton Public Library before heading north. Once a routine gets set, most Canton customers book the same barber every four to six weeks, which keeps the fade lines consistent instead of starting over each visit with someone new.
