Barbering for Farmington Hills

Farmington Hills does not have its own Detroit Barbers shop, and we would rather say that plainly than dress it up. What we do have is a location close by: our Southfield shop inside Southfield Town Center, reachable from most parts of Farmington Hills in ten to fifteen minutes depending on where you start.

If you work near the Botsford/Corewell Health hospital campus or in one of the office buildings along the Twelve Mile corridor, the drive east to Northwestern Hwy is familiar territory already. A lot of our Farmington Hills regulars book appointments around their work schedule rather than treating the haircut as a separate errand, since the Town Center towers sit in the same general business district feel as the offices near Twelve Mile.

The route itself is simple. Northwestern Hwy runs almost directly into the Town Center complex at Civic Center Dr, so there is no expressway merge or confusing exit sequence to worry about. Coming from neighborhoods closer to Heritage Park or the area around Twelve Oaks Mall, Twelve Mile Rd east to Northwestern gets you there just as easily.

Inside, the shop runs the way a barbershop should: skin fades, tapers, beard trims, and straight-razor hot towel shaves done by barbers who specialize in men's and boys' cuts rather than a mixed salon menu. Haircuts start at $35, fades at $40, kids cuts at $30, beard trims at $20, line-ups at $20, and the hot towel shave runs $45.

Parking is free in the Town Center decks, which matters if you are used to circling for street parking near downtown Farmington or fighting for a spot at a strip mall on Grand River. We built our Southfield hours around Tuesday through Sunday availability, closed Monday, so there is room for both weekday appointments after work and Saturday cuts before the weekend gets busy.

Farmington Hills is a large, mostly residential city, and the drive to us usually passes familiar landmarks like Hillside Golf Club or the shopping plazas along Orchard Lake Rd near Twelve Mile, so it rarely feels like a special trip. Families near Longacre Elementary or the neighborhoods off Fourteen Mile Rd often combine a haircut with a stop at Twelve Oaks Mall, since both sit roughly the same distance from Southfield Town Center. We also see regulars connected to Mercy High School and other nearby schools who want a clean fade before picture day or a school dance, and our barbers are used to working around those deadlines. College students home from Michigan State or Wayne State for a break frequently book a cut here since it is an easy stop between visiting family in Farmington Hills and heading back to school. Whether you are coming from the quieter streets near Heritage Park or the busier commercial stretch on Grand River, the Town Center shop stays the same distance and the same easy in-and-out experience.
