Overview

Our 4 oz. Matte Cream Pomade is the workhorse of the Detroit Barbers product line — the single pomade our barbers reach for more often than anything else on the back bar. The cream base spreads evenly between your fingers, melts down with a few seconds of warming, and disappears into the hair without leaving residue, shine, or that heavy, weighed-down feel cheaper pomades leave behind. The hold sits in the sweet spot most modern men's cuts call for: strong enough to keep a textured crop, side-swept fringe, or low-key quiff in place from the morning chair to the end of the night, but pliable enough that you can run your hands through it, re-shape, and rebuild without re-applying. The finish is the part most guys notice first — completely matte, with no wet look, no waxy build-up, and no awkward shine under indoor light. It just looks like good hair, the way the cut left the chair. How to Use

Start with a dime-sized scoop on your fingertips — less than you think you need. Rub the product between your palms for five or six seconds until the cream warms, thins, and turns translucent. Cold pomade sits on top of the hair; warmed pomade actually penetrates and grips. Work it into damp or towel-dried hair first, palm-pressing it through the roots and back, then finish-shaping with your fingertips or a comb depending on the look. For more lift and grit, dust Texture Powder into the roots before the pomade — the two layer beautifully. For a slightly polished finish, apply on damp hair; for the most matte, lived-in look, apply on dry hair. Reapply through the day by wetting your fingertips and re-activating what's already in your hair instead of adding fresh product.
