Overview

Gunsmoke is our take on the classic petro-based pomade — heavy hold, high shine, all-day stay, and the kind of wet-look finish that defined men's hair for the better part of a century. We built it for the cuts and clients who need the real thing: executive slick backs, formal side parts, traditional pompadours, undercut contours, and any style where you want a polished, glassy finish and a hold that absolutely will not move once it's set. The petro base is what makes the difference. Water-based and cream pomades have their place, but nothing else delivers the depth of shine, the grip on coarse and thick hair, or the all-day-into-the-evening stay of a properly formulated petro pomade. Gunsmoke gives you that traditional barbershop performance with a cleaner, more modern scent profile — no overpowering old-school cologne note, just a subtle confident base that doesn't fight with cologne or aftershave. The hold sits at the heavy end of the spectrum. Once it's set, it stays. Wind, humidity, a full day in the chair, a long dinner — the shape holds. Coarse and thick hair especially benefits, because petro pomades grip dense hair shafts in a way lighter formulas can't. Fine or thinning hair can use it too, but lighter applications and a careful comb-through go a long way. Like all true petro pomades, Gunsmoke needs a clarifying shampoo (or a pre-wash conditioner soak) to fully break down — it's not a one-rinse-and-gone product like our water-based line, and that's part of why the hold is so reliable.

How to Use

Scoop a small amount and warm it thoroughly between your palms until it melts completely and runs almost clear. Cold petro pomade is hard to distribute; warmed petro pomade sinks into the hair and grips. Apply to dry hair for the most controlled hold, or to slightly damp hair for maximum shine. Comb into shape with a fine-tooth comb. To wash out, use a clarifying shampoo, or work conditioner into dry hair first to break down the wax base before rinsing and shampooing normally.
